Although Lady Gaga (coming to US Airways Center on January 23, 2013) is universally known for her creative performing style and unique wardrobe choices, she should be equally as celebrated for her work in empowering children across the globe.

This past week, she made a trip to South Africa and teamed up with the United Nations Children's Fund with a goal of spreading compassion and love.

From the article at E! Online:

"On Dec. 1 I visited Isibindi Safe Park in Naledi to speak w the children about Youth Empowerment on behalf of UN/UNICEF," she tweeted.
The singer announced last year that she would be launching the Born This Way Foundation, a non-profit organization that will focus on youth empowerment by addressing such issues as self-confidence, well-being, anti-bullying, mentoring and career development.

Led by Lady Gaga and her mother Cynthia Germanotta, the Born This Way Foundation was founded in 2011 to foster a more accepting society, where differences are embraced and individuality is celebrated. The Foundation is dedicated to creating a safe community that helps connect young people with the skills and opportunities they need to build a kinder, braver world.

Clearly, Gaga displays as much passion for philanthropy as she does in her performances.
